美国残疾人法案(ADA)政策

Herzing大学遵守美国残疾人法案(ADA)的相关规定。, 康复法案第504条, 其他联邦法令, 以及有关残疾人的州和地方法律. 这些法律保护有残疾的学生, 学生可以要求学校为他们的残疾提供合理的便利. Reasonable accommodations are determined on an individual basis 和 made available to the extent that they meet the student’s needs 和 do not compromise the academic integrity of the University’s educational programs.

请求住宿

Herzing大学 is committed to ensuring that all information 和 communication pertaining to a student’s disability is maintained as confidential as required or permitted by law.

Reasonable Accommodation: Any change in an educational environment that effectively 和 appropriately enables an individual with a disability to have equal educational opportunities to participate in programs 和 activities.

• Requires a substantial change to an essential element of course curricula or a substantial alteration in the manner in which services are offered or provided for other students; or

教师 和 工作人员 (or applicants for employment positions) needing a service animal are encouraged to contact 人力资源 prior to bringing the service animal to campus to ensure the accommodation request process is followed 和 reasonable accommodations are appropriately provided to the employee or applicant.

The owner of a service animal is responsible for any damage to University or personal property 和 any injuries to individuals caused by their animal.

学生 may be denied the accommodation of a service animal in an academic setting if the animal’s presence fundamentally alters the nature of the educational program. An example of this may be a lab course that requires a sterile/clean 工作 environment 和 the service animal’s presence would compromise the sanitation/operational st和ards for the lab. Another example may be a lab course involving the use of lab animals 和 the service animal’s presence will be disruptive to the lab animals. 澄清说明:此例外仅适用于服务性动物, 由于情感支持动物通常不允许陪学生上课(或参加校园工作).

学生 with a service animal who are in a program with a clinical component must adhere to the guidelines for service animals established by each clinical facility they are as签署 to. 在很多情况下, a service animal may not be permitted to accompany a student to the clinical site due to health 和 safety st和ards at those clinical sites.
